Captain Sabertooth's menacing ship, the Dark Lady, is the only one Tiny, the world's youngest priate has ever known. Behind the Scenes was a 10-part television miniseries aimed towards 8- to 12-year-olds about various aspects of the arts, that was broadcast on PBS in 1992. The series was executive produced by Alice Stewart Trillin and Jane Garmey, produced and directed by Ellen Hovde and Muffie Meyer, and hosted by Penn & Teller. It was developed to illuminate the creative process underlying the working of artists.The series was funded by The National Endowment for the Arts, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the Bingham Trust and McDonald's.

The film guides us behind the scenes of the theatre and film productions. The film and theatre actors live the lives of the made up characters on stage and on camera, while also living to the fullest off-stage. Some episodes from their real lives are funny, some are scary, but all of them are exciting to witness.

Kristin (Anikka Albrite) is an aspiring actress. When she lands a role on a TV show thanks to her uncle, she really hopes that it will be her big break. Unfortunately the cast is not very welcoming and her jealous boyfriend is unsupportive. As she struggles to prove herself, Kristin finds herself falling for the male lead. With the help of the show's crew and and her best friend, Kristin soon discovers what goes down behind the scenes is sometimes even more important than what happens onscreen.
